
AIQ CERTIFICATE IN FITNESS COACHING
Fitness Coach course content and delivery/assessment method
The Gym Instructor course consists of 7 units:

Anatomy and Physiology For Exercise

Principles of Fitness Training

Principles of Nutrition and Lifestyle

Health and Safety in a Fitness Environment

Professionalism and Customer Care

Conducting Client Consultations
-
Planning and Delivering Fitness Sessions
Taught element (taught courses only):
You will receive 5 taught days during which you will learn all practical elements of the course. We teach you the movement patterns of: Squat, Hinge, Press, Pull, Rotation and Anti-rotation. You will become proficient at all of the major freeweight lifts and will learn how to coach these, plus resistance machines and cardiovascular exercise to clients. Gym experience is useful - but not essential!
Elearning learning element:
You will receive elearning resources including manuals that give you the knowledge that you need to back up your practical ability.

Assessments:
Assessments are completed via learning (attendance at a centre is only required to complete the practical exam.

Course duration:
You have up to 12 months* to complete your course. However, it is common for students to complete their Fitness Coaching qualification in 2-3 months.
*All assessments must be passed within 6 months of each other or reassessment of specific units may be required.
