EXERCISE REFERRAL

Exercise Referral course content and delivery/assessment method

The Personal Trainer course consists of 6 units:

  1. Professional Practice for Exercise Referral Instructors

  2. Understanding Medical Conditions for Exercise Referral

  3. Planning Exercise Referral Programmes with Patients

  4. Instructing Exercise with Referred Patients

  5. Applied Anatomy and Physiology *

  6. Nutrition to Support Physical Activity*

*If you have a 2018 Personal Trainer qualification you may not ned to complete these units/assessments - please submit proof of qualification upon enrolling via the registration form. You can use code PT200 to receive a £200 discount if you have these units!

Distance learning element:

You will receive learning resources including manuals or elearning (extra cost) that give you the knowledge that you need to work with clients with medical conditions

Assessments:

  1. Anatomy and physiology multiple choice exam*

  2. Self-marking digital worksheets*

  3. Nutrition multiple choice exam*

  4. Medical conditions long answer exam

  5. A Learner Achievement Record that includes a 6 week 'real life' case study and worksheets

  6. Practical assessments

Course duration:

You have up to 12 months to complete your course. However, it is common for students to complete their Exercise Referral qualification in 3-6 months.

To study this qualification, you must have completed your Gym Instructor course as a pre-requisite.
